Better Angels is a free, participatory public artwork, popped up at Waterfront Park Aug 21-22.

It's a large scale, inflatable sculpture of clouds and the golden gates of heaven, activated by performers playing Pete, head of security and supporting angels.

Better Angels responds to the country’s semi-quincentennial by reflecting on our failures as a nation as we were approaching our first centennnial. At the country's 250th birthday, Better Angels uses the notion of 'getting into heaven' from American pop-culture to imagine giving ourselves and each other grace as we work towards being our best selves individually and as a nation.
